If you are remortgaging your property with a new lender you may require a solicitor or conveyancer to help you with the legal side of things.

How much will it cost?  

Please see below details of our fees and disbursements/other associated costs.  

For straightforward remortgaging we offer a fixed rate of £500.00 plus VAT.

Other disbursements/associated costs which you will incur in the transaction include:

  • Copy title: £6 - £12.00
  • Local Search (£150 - £200) or Indemnity premium (£20 - £40)
  • Land Registry fee - Scale 2   (please see table 1 below). We wil generally make an online application.
  • £36 per electronic bank payment to repay your existing mortgage.

How long will the remorgage take?

From start to finish it normally takes between four and eight weeks from receipt of your mortgage to offer to complete the remortgage process.

The key stages involved in the transaction are:

  • When switching to a new lender, the new mortgage company may  request that a solicitor carries out local searches and checks the title of your property
  • We will arrange for you to sign the Mortgage Deed
  • Once all searches and checks have been completed, the new lender releases the mortgage funds, and the solicitor repays the previous lender
  • The solicitor then updates the Land Register.
