Nathan is based in our Canterbury office in the Residential Property team.
Nathan joined Girlings in June 2019, firstly working as a Paralegal in our Corporate and Commercial team and then commencing his Training Contract in March 2020. Nathan spent his Training Contract working in three practice areas including; Dispute Resolution, Residential Property and Commercial Property.
During his Training Contract, he particularly enjoyed the personable aspect of Residential Property Law, gaining experience in the acquisition and disposal of leasehold and freehold property, shared ownership, re-mortgages, transfers of equity and lease extensions. Nathan has acted for a variety of clients, including private individuals, investors and companies.
In 2014, Nathan graduated from the University of Kent with a 2:1 degree in Law. Whilst at University, Nathan participated in mooting and mediation competitions and he was a committee member of the Kent Law Clinic. In 2016 he went on to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BBP Law School, graduating in 2018 with a Commendation. During his time at BPP, Nathan was a first-year class representative and went on to become the co-founder and Vice President of a Clay Shooting Society.
Prior to starting his career in law, Nathan worked for several years as a Consultant within the luxury jewellery and watch industry and was invited to take on the role as Cartier ambassador. His knowledge and expertise within the sector secured him a client base which included local celebrities.
Nathan is passionate about the promotion and increase of equality and diversity in the legal profession and is committed to raising awareness of entry barriers faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in law.
Outside of the workplace, Nathan enjoys socialising with friends, taking countryside walks and playing golf.
