He is proficient in landlord and tenant matters, having provided practical advice on sales and leasebacks, commercial leases, lease assignments, agreements for lease and licences. He has also dealt with the property aspects of corporate acquisitions, disposals, and group re-structures.
His previous experience includes the sale of a pub marked as an Asset of Community Value, acquisition of 32 leasehold properties as part of a share transaction, and the management of a property portfolio of 1,200+ properties for a client.
After graduating from University of Kent with a first-class law degree, Usman started his legal career at another Kent based firm where he qualified as a solicitor into the commercial property team in 2019. He completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, graduating with a distinction.
Having been born and raised in Kent to self-employed parents running small businesses, Usman has always had a close affinity with independent, local businesses. He is a trustee of a registered charity in Dover and assists in the running of a community centre established to help those in need in the local area.
