Competing against 30 other crews, Girlings team ‘L-oar in Motion’ represented the Firm in a Dragon Boat Racing Festival at Bewl Water over the weekend.
Our team was a true pan-Girlings affair, made up of members from all three main Girlings offices, the Herne Bay support staff office, and an energetic contingent from our sister company Girlings Personal Injury Claims.
The highlight of our racing day was undoubtedly the second of the three heats, where we benefitted from a full crew and growing confidence to record our quickest time.
In the face of some very serious and experienced competition, the odds were always against our novice team reaching the day’s grand final. And while we fell short of that goal, everyone gave their best and thoroughly enjoyed the day – as well as raising £474 (so far) for our corporate charity Oasis Domestic Abuse Service along the way.
