Nicola’s experience of commercial disputes enables her to assess effectively a business’s priorities and advise accordingly. With the client’s objectives uppermost, she always seeks to maximise recovery and resolution as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Nicola is based in the Ashford office.
Nicola has extensive experience of dealing with disputes through the entire Court process from the pre-action stages to the conclusion of a fully contested trial. She has been involved with the successful settlement of a large number of commercial disputes without needing to commence formal legal proceedings which can often be both time consuming and expensive.
She is therefore a keen advocate of alternative forms of Dispute Resolution and will often recommend this method to achieve a quicker and more cost effective solution.
Resolving disputes in the construction sector is a particular area of specialism. She acts for clients such as building/construction companies, property developers, engineers and architects, as well as for homeowners. Her experience in this field is varied, with many disputes commonly related to defective or delayed works or non-payment.
Graduating from the University of Kent in 2010 with first class honours, Nicola went on to complete her Legal Practice Course the following year achieving a distinction. She qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joins Girlings from another leading Kent law firm.
