Girlings Solicitors Ashford & District 10K
News

Girlings is delighted to have sponsored this popular event which took place on Sunday, 4th February, for the second time running. The race, which celebrated its 30th birthday this year, attracts runners from across the county and is seen by many as marking the beginning of the marathon season.

Organised by Ashford & District Road Running Club, the event was managed for the first time this year by Sporting Events UK. Despite attrocious weather, biting cold and sleet, the run attracted 567 runners. Congratulations go to race champion, sixteen year old Ben Hughes from Medway & Maidstone AC, who snatched victory in a tightly fought finish - the seven top finishers all completed the race within 30 seconds of each other.

Girlings’ Carl Vincent, Partner and Head Employment Law put in an impressive performance to finish 3rd in his category and in 42nd place overall. Well done also to Partners, David Redgate (Commercial Property), Chris Brightling (Corporate & Commercial) and Paul McAleavey (Senior Associate –Employment Law) who finished mid-field. Team Girlings were running to raise money for Girlings corporate charity, Martha Trust.

Ashford and District Road Running Club welcomes adult runners of all abilities. If you enjoy running - whatever your level - contact them via their website or Facebook page.
