Congratulations are in order to Girlings trainee solicitors, Jordan Potter and Katie Perkins, who have won the Law South Cup 2026.

The competition, held in London, supports trainee lawyers from across Law South Group who spend the day participating in an interactive challenge that simulates the launch and running of a law firm, from start up through to several years of trading.

Across a total of six rounds, participants were required to make strategic decisions affecting areas such as recruitment, financial management, risk, branding, and long-term business growth, with the aim of building the most successful and profitable firm.

Working together as a team, Jordan and Katie adopted a clear strategy focused on quality, careful planning, and long-term growth. Their strong decision making and consistent approach saw them outperform the other teams to secure the overall win demonstrated by their ability to deliver a strong financial performance.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to explore the commercial aspects of running a law firm while developing skills in collaboration, planning, as well as developing critical and strategic thinking skills.

This is an excellent achievement for our trainee solicitors, Jordan and Katie, demonstrating their knowledge, ability and business acumen - which they have obtained so early on in their careers. Congratulations to you both!
