Members of the Girlings team attended the AGM of Canterbury Business Improvement District (BID), held at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge earlier this week.
Clare Millett (Chair of Canterbury BID and CEO of Westgate Community Trust and Westgate Hall) opened the meeting, before BID Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Carlson, outlined the BID’s achievements, challenges, and future plans.
Over the past 12 months, the BID has engaged in a range of business-oriented campaigns, events and other initiatives, including: the relaunch of Visit Canterbury, the Medieval Pageant and Family Trail, the production of over 50,000 seasonal city guides and shopping maps, and their ‘The Becket’ street cleaning programme.
Canterbury BID also continues to organise and host the monthly networking events, sponsored by Girlings Solicitors, that have proved so popular among Canterbury’s independent business community.
We were encouraged to hear about the BID’s future plans and look forward to continuing to work with them over the next year particularly by supporting their valuable networking programme.
