William is a seasoned solicitor with over two decades of experience dealing with civil and commercial disputes. This deep experience enables him to provide clients with expert advice on the possible options, outcomes, and risks of their matter.
Having handled everything from multimillion pound claims to disputes involving more modest amounts, William also understands how to respond to client concerns and help them work through evidentiary issues and questions of proportionality to reach the best possible outcome.
Aware that formal adjudication through the courts can sometimes prove slow, William can also advise clients on a range of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) options, including mediation, arbitration, adjudication, early neutral evaluation, conciliation, and expert determination.
William is dual qualified, having initially been admitted as an attorney in South Africa in 2002, and then as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2004.
In South Africa he studied at UNISA, the University of South Africa through which Nelson Mandela obtained his BA, LLB, and an honorary doctorate in Law. William then successfully completed the Qualified Lawyer’s Transfer Test through BPP Professional Education.
William is fluent in English, French, and Afrikaans, as well as having working knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese.
