Amrita is a Legal 500 recommended Commercial Property lawyer with nearly 20 years of experience, advising on all aspects of commercial property law. She has acted on a number of acquisitions and disposals for clients from all sectors, with a particular focus on the retail and hospitality sector.

Amrita is based in our Canterbury office and can assist with property investment, landlord and tenant matters and the property aspects of corporate transactions.

Recent transactions include the sale of land for development by one of the UK’s largest retirement property housebuilders and assisting on the sale of land conditional on planning and development with sale back and lease back provisions involving a complicated financing structure with multiple lenders involved. She has run the property aspects of a £3.25m asset sale to a national car dealership company and undertaken asset management portfolio work for a variety of clients ranging from large national restaurant and hotel operators to individual investors and traders. Amrita also has experience in acting for international restaurant brands, hotel chains and nightclub operators and recognised high street retail operators.

In terms of local work, she has acted on the purchase of a seafront hotel for £2m and on a property portfolio sale for £3.2m, more recently she has acted on the sale of development land to one of the UK’s largest retirement property housebuilders and on the sale of land conditional on planning and development with a sale and lease back structure involving multiple lenders. Amrita counts the owners of the multi-award winning restaurant The Ambrette, the critically acclaimed GB Pizza Co and the boutique Sands Hotel amongst her clients.

Amrita enjoys forming close relationships with her clients and accompanying them on the journey as their businesses develop and grow.

Amrita trained at City Firm Fieldfisher where she qualified in to their Real Estate department in 2003. Three years later she moved to West End Firm, Finers Stephens Innocent (now merged with Howard Kennedy). Amrita returned to Kent where she grew up in 2012 working for a regional Firm before joining Girlings in 2017.
