Emma graduated from the University of Kent with a 2.1 Law and French degree before completing the Legal Practice Course with a commendation at the College of Law in 2012.

Emma went on to spend over three years working for the Home Office within a legal team. During this time Emma gained extensive legal experience in advocacy representing the Secretary of State for the Home Department at appeal hearings.  This role also involved frequently drafting grounds of appeal on behalf of the Secretary of State.

In March 2016 Emma moved into private practice beginning as a Commercial Property paralegal with Girlings.  During this time, Emma assisted with a wide range of property matters including conveyancing and lease extensions as well as bridging finance and commercial mortgages.

Emma started her Training Contract at Girlings in September 2016 and has gained broad experience working within Girlings’ Family, Residential Conveyancing and Private Client teams.  Emma has dealt with divorce proceedings and separation as well as child arrangements.   Whilst in the Conveyancing department Emma assisted with the conveyancing of leasehold and freehold titles as well as probate conveyancing. 

Emma has now returned to the Private Client team in the Canterbury Office to complete her final seat.  Emma has experience in drafting Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney and also undertakes work involving the Court of Protection and estate administration.
