Andy heads up a range of HR Services deigned for local businesses which compliments the work of Girlings' well established Employment Law team.
His previous experience has spanned training, HR business support and generalist HR roles covering day to day issues such as recruitment, absence management, discipline, grievances, performance management, redundancy exercises, data protection, TUPE and employee terminations.
Andy began his career as a trainer at the BT management college. His first HR role was with the frozen food company Brakes where manufacturing and distribution were the focus for the business. Following that he moved to a role heading up the HR team at Saga Services where managing the HR aspects of a major call centre operation was the main HR challenge. More recently he has worked in and with the professional services industry including in accounting, legal and architectural firms.
As he has spent his career working principally “in house” in large and smaller businesses and in single and multi site operations, Andy views HR issues from an industry perspective and has a keen focus on hands on problem solving and finding practical solutions to staff issues.
Andy has over 20 years' experience tackling HR issues at a senior level in high profile businesses.
