A reminder from Commercial Property Solicitor, Lindsay Sharp, that from 6 April every dog in England and Scotland will have to be microchipped by law. The new legislation aims not only to reunite people with lost or stolen pets but to track down the owners of vicious or illegal dogs.
Owners of dogs found by the police or local authorities not to have a microchip after this date will have the benefits explained to them and be given a short period to comply with the microchipping law. If they do not, they will face a fine of up to £500. Find out more about this new dog microchipping law.
