Head of Family Law, at Girlings, Sarah Finnis began her Presidency of Rotary Herne Bay on 3rd July and promises an energetic and exciting term.
'At Girlings we have a strong commitment to playing our part in making Kent a great place to live and work. Staff at each of our offices in Ashford, Canterbury and Herne Bay are involved in a wide range of good causes which benefit our local community. I and my fellow solicitors are also regular advisers at free advice clinics run by the Kent Law Clinic, Citizens Advice and Age UK.
I am honoured to have been asked to serve as President of Rotary Herne Bay. I joined the club in 2016 as I recognised that membership would give me the opportunity to enjoy the company of likeminded people who share similar principles and who are also keen to actively participate in projects to improve the local area.
Herne Bay’s Strode Park Foundation is my chosen charity and I am looking forward to supporting this dedicated Kent charity throughout my Presidential Year to raise funds to ensure that children and adults with a range of disabilities have the vital care and support that they need.
In October, I will also be taking part in a one-night Rotary sleep out for Porchlight to raise much-needed funds to support homeless and vulnerable people in our local area. It will undoubtedly be a challenging and most rewarding year.'
