What is Good Divorce Week?

Good Divorce Week, 10 – 14th November 2025 is an initiative, promoted by Resolution, a membership organisation committed to supporting separating couples and their legal representatives. It aims to find a productive and amicable way through separation and divorce for former couples.

Good Divorce Week seeks to highlight the support available to divorcing couples and their families.

Who is Good Divorce Week promoted by?

Resolution is the membership organisation of family justice professionals who commit to working with families and divorcing or separating couples in a constructive way.

Resolution promotes a non-confrontational approach to family law believing it produces better outcomes for separating families and their children. It’s commitment to working constructively is enshrined in its Code of Practice.

What is Resolution’s Code of Practice?

This year, the week long campaign focuses on Resolution's Code of Practice which you can read here: Our Code of Practice | Resolution

All family law legal practitioners, who are members of Resolution, are expected to sign up to the Code of Practice and complete training about how to use it in their day-to-day work.

All our family law lawyers at Girlings Solicitors are members of Resolution and, therefore, adhere to its Code of Practice. We are committed to ensuring that the ethical principles in the Code of Practice are applied to our own work as normal.

We will share more about Good Divorce Week over the coming days and provide helpful links and information explaining more about how we work in a constructive way with our clients, putting the needs of the family first.

If you have any questions about any family law matters or would like to discuss your situation with one of our lawyers please contact Gemma Purt or another member of the Family Law team on 01227 768374.
