Girlings Supports Dementia Action Week Events Across Kent and Medway
News

Members of Girlings Solicitors Wills, Tax and Estate Administration team were out in force this week, supporting two key events for Dementia Action Week helping to raise awareness of the importance of putting a Will and Lasting Powers of Attorney in place early, to minimise uncertainty during what is already a difficult time.

Sarah Geering, Stephanie Stocker and Mark Dennison met with people living with dementia, alongside their families and carers at Farrow Court in Ashford on Monday 18th May at the Dementia Connections Day event where a number of other practitioners were also in attendance offering their professional advice.

Sarah, Stephanie and Mark discussed the steps individuals can take to protect themselves, including putting a properly registered Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, helping to provide reassurance for families, carers and loved ones, as well as outlining ways to manage and safeguard their estate and other assets.

The conversation continued later in the week at the Kent and Medway Dementia Conference in Maidstone, where Sarah, Stephanie and Mark connected with a wide range of professionals, including care providers, care home staff, NHS representatives and local businesses, many of whom are exploring innovative techniques to better support those living with dementia.
