Girlings Solicitors has raised £16,348 for Kent-based charity Holding On Letting Go, marking the culmination of a two-year partnership dedicated to supporting bereaved children and their families.
The funds raised will help almost 50 children access the charity’s specialist bereavement programmes, providing therapeutic support to young people navigating the loss of a loved one. The firm said it was “immensely proud” of the impact the partnership has made and of the meaningful difference colleagues have helped deliver across the county for the charity.
Over the course of the partnership, staff from across Girlings took part in an ambitious programme of fundraising and volunteering activities. These included quiz nights, raffles, marathon relays, Tough Mudder challenges, long-distance runs and volunteering weekends, with teams consistently showing energy and commitment to the cause.
Holding On Letting Go supports children and families affected by bereavement through therapeutic group sessions, one-to-one support and ongoing guidance. Its work provides a safe, compassionate space for children to process grief and build resilience at some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Charlotte Nock, Managing Partner at Girlings Solicitors, said the partnership had been a source of collective pride for the firm.
“We are incredibly proud of what our teams have achieved over the past two years. Raising £16,348 for Holding On Letting Go means that 46 children can receive specialist support at a time when they need it most. This partnership has shown what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose, and we are honoured to have been able to support such a vital local charity.”
Sarah Crouch, Head of Marketing and Communications at the firm, highlighted the enthusiasm shown across the business.
“What has stood out throughout this partnership is the passion and commitment shown by colleagues across the firm. Whether through fundraising events, physical challenges or volunteering their time, people got involved wholeheartedly. Knowing that our efforts will translate directly into meaningful support for bereaved children makes every step, mile and event worthwhile.”
The charity’s Fundraising Officer, Pam Meller, said: “It has been a privilege to have been chosen as Girlings’ charity partner for the last two years and to celebrate the amazing total raised of over £16,350.
“This sum enables over 46 children to be supported through our specialised bereavement programmes and is testament to the dedication and commitment of the Girlings Team, who have planned and undertaken a wide variety of events; many of which we, as a team have enjoyed sharing in and building relationships. This, in turn, further raises the profile of the work of Holding On Letting Go, creating awareness and helping to reach more families who may need our support.
“A heartfelt ‘Thank You’ from all at HOLG and the families we support.”
As the partnership draws to a close, Girlings Solicitors reflected positively on the legacy of the collaboration, describing it as an opportunity to make a lasting, tangible impact within the local community. The firm is committed to supporting initiatives that align with its values and create real change for those who need it most.
