Girlings advise The Reading Doctor on franchising

Girlings’ Corporate & Commercial team has recently advised The Reading Doctor in relation to a franchise agreement. Deborah Salsbury, a former primary school teacher turned businesswoman, has since recruited her sixth franchisee for The Reading Doctor after beginning her franchising journey with Girlings just under a year ago. The Reading Doctor offers bespoke Reading Intervention Programmes, delivered to struggling readers in and out of school by trained Primary School Teachers and Deborah’s inspiring story is the cover feature in FranchiseWorld Feb/March.

Chris Brightling, Head of Corporate & Commercial at Girlings commented: ‘Deborah has worked tirelessly to build a successful platform for her franchise business and we are delighted with the success she has achieved in such a short time.’

Deborah commented: ‘When I first called Girlings, I really wasn't sure whether licensing or franchising was best for my business. During the initial discussion Chris and Nathan asked all the right questions to get an in depth understanding of what I do. They listened intently, commented enthusiastically and then explained all my options clearly. After the decision was made to franchise, they guided me patiently through every aspect of the process and this resulted in a highly bespoke franchise agreement. I'm pleased to say, in 10 months I now have 4 franchisees established, with 2 more about to start.’

Deborah, as a result of her positive experience with the Corporate & Commercial team, has since recommended two more clients to the firm.
