A Perfect Partnership: Girlings Solicitors and Kent County Cricket Club
News

Legal partners of Kent County Cricket Club for over 20 years, Girlings looks forward to working with new CEO Ben Green to realise the Club’s vision for its future.

Under the direction of Head of Commercial Property, Jeremy Burke, Girlings has been actively engaged in transactions to raise finance for the growth of the Club. These include the McCarthy & Stone residential housing scheme and the development of the Club’s administrative facilities which involved a complex leasing agreement with Sainsbury’s. The Firm’s Business Law team also advises the Club on Employment Law and corporate and commercial matters.

New CEO, Ben Green, comes with an impressive track record having worked previously at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and the Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC). His stewardship heralds a new era with the appointment of Sam Billings as men’s captain and Paul Downton as director of cricket to drive performance on the field. Ben’s strategy is focussed on creating a year round business to drive revenue for the Club in order to develop its facilities as well as its up-and-coming cricket stars. With several wins already under their belt this season, the Club’s future looks bright.
