Patrick has degrees in Law and Theology from Liverpool and Oxford Universities and was admitted as a solicitor in 1989, having trained with Baker & McKenzie in London. His early years as a solicitor were spent with MacFarlanes in their Corporate Department in London where he undertook a wide range of work for major national and international clients, including banks, motor manufacturers, retailers of goods and services, publishers, advertising agencies and oil companies.
Since moving to Kent with his family, he has advised on a range of corporate and commercial matters and has particular expertise in business acquisitions, service level and supply agreements, distribution agreements, franchise agreements and IPR licensing. Patrick enjoys the differing challenges faced in advising a wide range of businesses with their specific matters. By way of recent examples, he has advised clients in the purchase and sale of high street retail businesses, he has just completed advising on a re-structuring of the ownership of a dental practice, is assisting a services supplier in its commercial agreements with customers and suppliers, he has completed the merger of a national charity with another in the same sector and he has advised on the sale to overseas investors of a leading UK installer of truck electrical systems.
