Peter graduated in law from Oxford University, where he was also President of the Jazz Club. He is currently Chairman of the East Kent branch of the O.U. Society. He joined Girlings in 1970 and became a Partner in 1974. In 1996 he was President of the Kent Law Society. For the last 20 years he has specialised in Personal Injury law, and is a member of FOCIS (Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors). In 2008 he retired as a Partner but remains as Chairman of the firm. For 20 years he has been a part time judge in the Crown Court, presiding over jury trials.
Outside work, he enjoys tennis and cricket, and was President of the Kent County Cricket Club in 2008. He has always loved music and as a student and later he played the drums in bands - a world in which he met the Beatles, played with Eric Clapton, and appeared on the Archers!
